heart new music

I found Actor/Model through a bizarre coincidence — someone mentioned them as ‘genderfucked bluegrass’ in a list of trans musicians on the Chicago-based queer study-l email list. The best local music always seems to come via somewhere else. I don’t think this Actor/Model are bluegrass or particularly queer (maybe), but they are from Melbourne. And their song “My Agent Says” reminds me of the layered euphoria of Pinback.

  4. oh i just saw these kids play at ida, this queer farm in the heart of tennessee’s bible belt. vouching for the ‘queer’ & no they’re not from melbs - usa kids. hilarious song about all those ‘oh i don’t know how i feel about that’ rad fem responses to sexual misconduct that goes something like ‘i already got me a mommy, just call me daddy’. nice kids.

    ida has an annual music fest with as much queer blues grass you can twang a banjo to. it’s a long way but totes worth going to. http://www.planetida.com

  5. hi warren, thanks for clearing that up. planet ida sounds really awesome, i’ll definitely check it out. do you know if the us actor/model have released anything? my google research has come to naught. (well, brought me to the *other* actor/model.)
